Absolutely the best ice-cream! If you are in Miami you must try it.
(5)Peter E.
Its gelato!! You can't really mess it up! I got the hazelnut (a standard for me). I enjoyed it.
(4)Lisa A.
What's better than cold gelato on a hot day? Probably not much. Spinning gelato, about 20 flavored to choose from. Fruit and dairy flavors, and all were fantastic! The lemon was so refreshing----and pretty sour! I had cream caramel, and it was creamy and decadent! Yum! Seating limited inside and outside, and it's hard to eat ice cream outside when it melts so fast!
(5)Staci E.
Boyfriend and I had gelato. Not bad, but nothing special. Pretty typical flavors. Definitely not worth the price. Would have liked to see more flavor options or dollar less prices. Maybe their other stuff is really good, but we only had the gelato. Shriver's Gelato in Ocean City, NJ takes the cake of all the gelato we've tried.
(3)Tina L.
Pretty good gelato! Got the strawberry and cream caramel and they were delicious! The gelato melts all over you if you don't eat it fast though since the store doesn't have a/c. I would be back if I was in town visiting. 4 stars because of the gelato -1 because the employee looked annoyed and wasn't patient with me. Bare with me.. All the flavors look good!! She was standing there annoyed looking and on her phone while the manager came in upbeat and welcomed us after we got ice cream.
(4)Ratchel D.
Cute small gelato shop. The seating outside called our attention. The gelato was a hit with my toddler. She had the strawberry flavor, enjoyed it very much. My sister ordered the chocolate chip, liked it as well. I shared choc/vanilla, yum. Note on location: while there, a man who was on the second floor of establishment was out drinking on the balcony and fighting with someone. We did not feel very comfortable eating there. Not sure if he was intoxicated or what, at one point we heard shouting and something breaking. Had to eat our gelato while walking. Not pleased.
(3)Cynthia M.
I tried both their Nutella and Oreo gelatos in a cone. Both were wonderful, but the Nutella was definitely my favorite! The gelato was nice and decadent, and I would definitely come here again if I am in Miami.
(5)Dominique F.
Nothing out of this world, but it's good gelato, and it's in a cute little alleyway, so you can grab a cone or cup and sit infront of the store to people watch a little before going on with your day.
(3)Elizabeth Y.
Very limited selection, but the quality definitely beats quantity here. THe pistachio is made very well - not like the artificial pistachio types. I also highly recommend their strawberry gelato. It tasted more like a sorbet but there was slight creaminess to it. But every bite tasted as though you were eating fresh strawberries. It even has strawberry seeds to match the texture of the real fruit. There is limited seating inside and outside. I thought the ice cream chairs were super cute though.
(4)Emily K.
Good gelato and they are open late! This place is on española way which is a super cute, fun street to walk down (it's only 2 blocks but it's a party). They only have about 10 flavors. We got nutella, pistachio and strawberry. I would definitely recommend nutella and pistachio, yummmmmm :)
(4)Pamela S.
The best gelato I've ever had - came here two nights in a row! My colleagues actually came here three nights in a row.... they liked it that much. This remains my favorite gelato shop. Great location on Espanola Way, perfect for dessert after dinner. The gelato wheel is authentic and shipped from Italy. They seem to have a lot of pride and enthusiasm in this establishment. Scoops come with a mini cone garnish, love that extra texture. The first night I got pistachio and lemon, which turned out to be an amazing combination. Very true flavors - the pistachio was nowhere near overwhelmingly sweet, but I liked the tartness of the lemon mixing it up. Second night I got hazelnut and strawberry, which I also really enjoyed. Yes, I like the sweet + tart combos. Seems like I can't go wrong here. Small, unassuming shop. Not much sitting room, but they have ice cream themed furniture outside! Makes it all the more fun.
(5)Kimberly K.
I've always loved this place because it's reasonably priced, excellent quality gelato for two scoops in a cup including a mini cone garnish. Their lemon flavor is MY FAVORITE! So refreshing and fresh, it tastes so natural! It's the perfect mixture of tarte and sweet. Their strawberry comes second best, it also tastes natural and pairs well with the lemon, like a strawberry limonata haha. They let you sample two flavors only, so choose wisely. Their stracciatella is alright, nothing special. The caramel cream is too sweet. Tonight, I tried the Nutella and tiramisu. THE NUTELLA IS GREAT. It tastes just like Nutella except with a stronger kick of hazelnut. If you eat it with the mini cone that comes wit every cup, it's as if you're eating a Ferrari rocher! The strawberry would pair well with this too. And I loooove the tiramisu! The tiramisu gelato actually has layers of tiramisu cake fused in it. Usually, the woman fills up the cup from top to bottom but today, she didn't. I guess she was either in a rush or she hated my friends and I. Haha oh well, I'm still coming back for the delicious affordable gelato!
(5)Karen L.
Cute litte place. Delicious gelato. It's tiny and packed. Tucked away in the heart of Espanola Way but a must go! Hazelnut and Pistachio were my favorite. Perfect little place to cool down in the summer nights!
(4)Katrina T.
Best Gelato of my life! So awesome that they have a spinning gelato wheel with tons of flavors! I get the same flavor at every gelato place I go to but this one stands out to me the most! It doesn't melt super quick, it isn't over the too sweet... It is perfect. I had the hazelnut and Nutella. My fave flavors mixed together. It was so good I finished it with a quickness.
(5)Erika G.
Had the Coconut (twice) and the strawberry. So delicious. Real fruit flavor and coconut pieces in the gelato. Good place for dessert after eating dinner. Cute seating outside. I will keep coming back when I visit south beach.
(5)Juliet A.
Good gelato, but definitely nowhere near great. Typical assortment of flavors - nothing original or outstanding that you wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. Chocolate, pistachio, coconut, hazelnut, coffee, tropical fruit, etc. If you come here, have a few samples to see what you like before purchasing. $6 for a medium (2 scoops) seemed a tad overpriced - I'd pay a bit under that in DC for much better quality, house-made gelato with way better flavors. They were also out of medium sized cups in the middle of the day on Sunday, so the only options were to go for small or large, or medium in a cone. Cute seating area outside.
(3)Liz P.
The gelato and espresso were super delish. I got the pistachio and ferrero rocher gelato flavors. It was silky and creamy and sooo good, close to what I've had in Rome.
(4)Alison L.
My crew wandered in to this lovely dessert joint for an post dinner snack. It was quite pleasant to stroll down Espanola Way while enjoying a cone. They have a really modern rotating Gelato wheel, the owner is actually from Italy, and they have adorable ice cream furniture. I sampled a few flavors and the standouts were hazelnut, strawberry, and pistachio. They also have this cool whipped cream machine so you get a dollop on whipped cream on top which was unique for me.
(4)Gabrielle D.
If you think you've had gelato in this country--YOU HAVEN'T until you've been to Milani's! I used to be a fan of Paciugo (chain), and I still kind of am because that's all we got here in Texas, but if you live in Florida you have NO EXCUSE! There is just something about the smoothness and creaminess of the gelato here, you KNOW it's authentic--other places don't have that. I'm craving a big ol' pint right now! I had the mango, it was EXCELLENT. A girl sure can dream!
(5)Abbie A.
This reminds me exactly of gelato from Italy. Walk right into some friendly faces and be amazed by the wheel of fortune... or better yet the WHEEL of GELATO! Plenty of selections to choose from and I chose my tried and true favorite of limoncello. So light and refreshing with a good balance of tart flavors. The location of this place is awesome - right in the middle of Espaniola Way. They've got seating inside and some whimsical seating outside as well. Great way to enjoy a nice day outside!
(5)Thuy H.
OVERPRICED!! The pistachio gelato was good, not amazing, but we were given a shallow cup that was barely filled to the top for almost $6!! In general, gelato is pricey & I'm willing to pay that but I don't like it when I'm getting ripped off...at least top off my cup for what I paid!! I will not be returning to this store!! There are many gelato shops in Miami to eat at!! The customer service was mediocre as well.
(2)Review T.
Got chocolate and vanilla because I wasn't sure if I'd like this place - it was delicious!
(4)Bashar M.
Excellent gelato, but found 4D on Lincoln was better. Had the pistachio & Nutella on a cone. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Plus Espanola Way is just so damn cute. Can't go wrong!
(4)Judy C.
Besides the rude service, the gelato was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. FYI: You only get 2 samples... Oh, and the cashier lady won't let you throw your trash inside the store's trash can. -_-
(2)Monica L.
Best ice cream, or gelato, in south Beach, and Miami for that matter! Creamy, flavorful and a perfect waffle cone! The bests are Nutella and Hazelnut, for me at least. Make it a MUST PIT STOP in your fun day plans! Wish they had free cold tap water though.
(5)Dana M.
This was my first time having gelato and boy, was it worth it. I had the cream caramel and strawberry flavors. In addition to it being delicious, the service was great! Definitely a must go!
(5)Yuqing L.
We had coconut and pistachio. awesome
(5)Joe A.
Okay, as a dude that once worked in a gelato joint, I have to give this place a whole lotta props. Gelato can easily be too milky for some (it's made with milk, after all), but Milani manages to keep the creaminess. Fun flavors, cool cooler, and rad atmosphere, tucked away on Espanola Way (look for the ice cream cone chairs and tables). Try the bacio, you might just cry a tiny tear of joy.
(5)Arpita B.
Tried this place on a scorching hot Miami day to get some cool respite. Nestled in the beautiful Espanol way this store is a hole in the wall...u blink... U miss. The outside of the store is lined with colorful ice cream cone shaped colorful chairs. The inside was dark mainly coz it wasn't too busy & the person in charge chose not to turn any lights on. All the gelatos are stored in a giant wheel shaped freezer which made me feel like I was at a game show... Spin the wheel & determine your flavor of the day!! On a serious note there aren't an overwhelming number of choices, probably 10. My favorite was the white chocolate which was truly divine. The vanilla came a close second....I am not a fan of vanilla ice cream in general but this one changed my mind. It had more than sufficient vanilla flavor in it for you to actually be able to taste it. A tad on the pricier end...approx $6 dollars for 2small scoops on a waffle come but it's worth getting a gelato break once in a while!
(4)Dan B.
Always come back here when im in SoBe. Awesome gelato and great service. Came here twice because it was that good in a span of 5 days. Its also refreshing to grab an espresso and a cone.. its a little piece of Italia in little Espanhola Way. I always gravitate towards anything vanilla..literally and hazelnut. I go with the cup with a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of hazelnut. yum!
(5)Amanda G.
After a disappointing and unsatisfying dinner, we stopped in here to look around and ended up getting dessert. The sorbet I had was the BEST I have ever tasted. So creamy, I asked a few times if it was gelato and not sorbet. Flavor was amazing as well. I actually loved my sorbet so much I didn't feel like I was settling for it instead of gelato. (Since going mostly dairy free, I do occasionally feel that way.) My hubby's gelato was also quite possibly the best he had ever had. Service was great, the Italian guy working there was adorable, and nice enough to let us taste a few flavors. A little pricey, but well worth it. One of favorite things I ate in Miami. I wish there was a place in my neighborhood that produced such an amazing product.
(5)Tony Q.
Friendly service, ok price but good ice cream/gelato! Very nice place; will be on the stop by list when I am in town!
(5)S D.
Located Espanola Way gelato is a good way to cool down in Miami. My favorite thing before entering are tables and chairs they have, they're made of ice cream comes!!
(5)Sherry W.
I had the bacio. It tastes like Nutella. Great fresh ingredients. They can make shakes. One scoop is 4.30. Toppings are 50 cents. You can get containers to go. Very creamy. They have tables outside. Great to sit outside and watch people along Hispaniola way.
(5)Stephen B.
Not open late night. Whether it's Yelp's fault or the establishment- a wasted walk due to poor communication.
(1)Emily Z.
Came for an afternoon delight, and I must say it was definitely a bliss. Creamy delicious gelato, pretty street. I tried their pistachio and coconut flavors and it came with a cute little cone and I love their spinning display!
(5)Kimberly K.
Walking along Espanola Way, we came across Milani Gelateria. Decided to try a couple of flavors and was quite impressed. The employee was super friendly and patient with us. We decided to try a Small cup ($5.50) of Pistachio and Strawberry. The cutest little cone was placed on top. The flavors tasted natural and the consistency was perfect. It was not too sweet, creamy, light, and smooth. Some seating is available inside. There is a restroom in the back, but it was out of order the day we went. Outdoor seating is available as well, they have the cutest ice cream cone chairs and tables. Looking for a cool treat while in Miami Beach? Look no further. They are open till 1 am on weekends.
(4)Elizabeth B.
Discovered this place on a Miami Culinary Tour. It was our last stop and a perfect ending to a great tour. The gelato shop is adorable and the flavors are delicious. One of the best gelato's I have ever had.
(5)Sandy T.
looooove this place! and where it's located not bad either! I have never been to espanola waybut defiantely a great place to see. A little bit of euro in miami! The owner is Francesco he is sooooooooooo cute and sweet. He makes his gelato daily so you know its fresh. The flavors are to die for. My favorite is the berry one lol. other flavors that were just as good is the pistacio (he gets them delievered from spain) and coconut. You can get away with ordering a Medium (only other size is large) and there is a lot more gelato than you think. Which you get 2 scoops mix and match with a little tiny cone on top. LOVE IT here
(5)Paul T.
The Gelato is alright at best. For Miami it is very below average. But it still taste good. The worst part was the "I don't care if you are here" service and the comically small portions. Miami has a lot of gelato spots, i've been to a ton. This certainly is the worst one I've been to so far. 4D South of 5th is 100X better. I rather spend my $5 on a half gallon of ice cream at target. Save your money.
(1)Frank L.
Artisan Gelateria that makes me remember some of the best in Europe. Their pistachio was authentic with chunks of pistachios with no added Flavors or almond extracts. This is the real deal from Italy and not fake gelato from Haagen Dazs. The Bacio had me swimming in Nutella without any intense overpowering Flavors. You can actually eat a pint without over satiating your palette. Great presentation in a wheel shaped freezer. Love this place!
(5)Domenico D.
the gelato is not artisanal and u can definitively see but the worst part is that they are always understaffed and not friendly. i would not reccomend if u like artisal gelato
(1)Emily H.
It's South Beach, so you're going to expect to pay about $5 for a small cup. If you can stomach that, and the long wait times (when I went, there was only one person to both scoop the gelato and ring people up), then you'll like this place. The flavors are great (I love the chocolate) and they have cute little ice cream-shaped chairs and tables outside. All in all, a great place to take a break and treat yourself if you're walking down Espanola or Washington.
(4)Lisa O.
Taste really good. Taste very natural and not generic. The chocolate gelato is very delicious.
(5)Elsie W.
I loved the service here. Oh, and my gelato too. The girl was so nice for telling me I could get two flavors in my cup. Pistachio + coconut. Yum. I also love the ice cream cone seats.
(4)Brian W.
Cream Carmel was excellent gelato. It's the best I have ever had. The spinning gelato server was impressive and keeps the temperature just right! I'd recommend this as a snack to cleanse your palate.
(5)Alexandre B.
Simple: I felt like I was back in Italia. Best ice cream I've had since coming back from Italia a year ago!
(5)Monty M.
Coconut & pistachio & hazelnut. Spin the wheel and pick any flavor. You cant go wrong either way all of em good.
(4)Samir P.
it was a good gelato, orderd pistachio and coconut flavor. small portion allows you to have two flavor. its in nice ambiance and good for sitting down outside and have fun,
(4)Naty K.
Employees are Italian, the gelato is fresh and homemade, and their selection is varied and displayed in the form of a spinning wheel, what else can you ask for? Prices aren't bad either. I ordered 2 scoops, one was a vanilla with chocolate chip and the other one was coconut. The coconut had actual flakes of coconut, something that isn't all that common anymore (most places just resort to artificial flavoring, and that is it). Considering it can get quite hot on the beach, this place hits the spot while strolling the cute Espanola Way area.
(5)Jennifer S.
Such a cute place on Espanola Way to grab some gelato after dinner! The display case was very cool...beautiful way to display the tasty looking gelato. We enjoyed the fruit flavored gelatos and took it to go to stroll the streets in Miami while enjoying our gelato.
(4)Eve K.
Great gelato and friendly service on a pretty street. This place is simple and fun.
(4)Kristina L.
My boyfriend and I first discovered Milani Gelateria late one night while strolling down charming, cobblestoned Española Way in South Beach, FL. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we couldn't think of anything better than plopping down on a bench and people-watching while enjoying some gelato. The friendly, red-bandanna-wearing server patiently described all of the enticing flavors, and even offered us samples to try. Oh, and did I mention that he could be a freaking Italian model, with his dark, tousled hair and high, sculpted cheekbones? And sexy Italian accent? Ahem. I later found out that he's Francesco Pasqua, the 28-year-old OWNER of this place! I'm even more impressed. On to the gelato! This is by far the best, freshest gelato I've EVER tasted in my life! Not too sweet, not too heavy, yet somehow still very rich with flavor. Milani's selection of flavors is limited, but this didn't deter us in the least. Flavors like pistachio, mango, and bacio (chocolate and hazelnut's lovechild) are made from scratch daily with ingredients flown in from Italy. I also have to take a moment to comment on the decor! I love the modern lines of Milani's black-and-red logo (I'm a graphic designer, after all). And the black-and-white zebra-striped walls are very much my style. This tiny shop has a high-tech, Italian designer Vespa-like feel to it, complete with stainless steel "roulette wheel" freezers that rotate while showcasing their beautiful, artisanal gelato flavors. LOVE THIS PLACE. If I had some serious moolah, I'd probably open up a Milani franchise right here in New England, just so I could get my fix. But of course it could never come close to that little Italian gelateria that sits quietly on romantic Española Way.
(5)Robbin L.
Probably the priciest gelato. I tired the pistachio and hazelnut which tasted fine, and fairly fresh. The attendant claims he makes the gelato fresh, every morning but he couldn't describe the process which was a bit odd. Oh, when ordering a waffle cone, be aware that you are not allowed to have a small :( only medium or larger...this would have been useful information to know before hand but alas, hopefully this helps someone else.
(2)Aldo V.
Supper Yummy!!!!! i have never had creamier gelato - and by real Italians! with real Italian accents! I love that spinning cooler - On Espanola Way - a supper cute part of the city - a great way to cool down after a hot muggy walk around Miami Beach.....
(5)Julie M.
Great gelato spot. The gelato is super creamy and flavorful. I tried the Dulce de Leche and the Stracciatella, both of which were excellent. This is the perfect frozen treat on a hot Miami day.
(5)Jeanne D.
When I went to Rome I became a gelato fanatic so I had to try this establishment when I saw it while strolling down Espanola Way. The pistachio is very good but in Rome good lemon is more subtle. Perhaps they are catering to American tastes. On future visits I hope to try more of their flavors.
(4)Jason W.
Great location. After grabbing a cup you can walk the streets and take in the neighborhood. Walking distance to the beach.
(4)Cathy M.
Holy Mouth Explosion! Hard to miss given the ice cream cone shaped seats outside on Espaniola Way. I thought it was just me, but I KNOW this place is that good: I've seen "Miami Culinary Tours" make a stop here with a group. If it's worth stopping here, you know it's worth it. Go there now!! Bacio is Nutella, Pistachio is to die for, and my cousin and husband swear by Lemon.
(5)Aditya A.
Solid
(4)Adam Y.
This is an Italian gelateria run by a couple of very nice Italians, like came here from Italy to open up a Gelateria Italian. The wheel of gelato is what caught my attention, it's an orb of sweet goodness that must be sampled. One taste is all it took, I'm a regular, every time I'm in the area I get my Milani Gelateria fix. Pistachio and coffee together are my favorite. If you get the chance to stop by you'll be hooked too.
(4)Christine C.
How do you resist a wheel of gelato? yelp.com/biz_photos/ttpH… The pistachio gelato was creamy with touches of sweetness. The flavor was nutty and mild. I was half expecting a slight artificial flavor but it was as if I was biting into a spoonful of creamy pistachio. The older Italian gentleman in the shop was welcoming and friendly. yelp.com/biz_photos/ttpH… Perfect place to make a stop and refuel while strolling down Espanola Way.
(4)George V.
Get the lemon. It is awesome!!!
(5)Jojo F.
Late night gelato. In a town where you don't have a Red Mango chain eating up the local business, you come to rely on another franchise like Milano Gelateria to step in and curb those cravings. The selection is limited and wonderful. Every business should take a cue from Milani Gelateria. Offer a few amazing products that sell themselves, instead of 31 flavors of sadness. Overall, a great place to enjoy a bit of rich, cool sweetness. And yes, the Wheel of Gelato is pretty awesome.
(4)Greg P.
Visited this gelato shop with children. The staff was as cold as the ice cream, possibly colder. They only sold single scoops in cones, and refused to put one scoop of ice cream in a cup for kids. We wanted to buy ONE single scoop in a cup, and they said "no." With that, we ordered the cones and went on our way. They didn't like children in this establishment. It was VERY obvious. Gelatto was fresh and delightfully tasty, but the service is lacking any personality or humanity.
(2)Chris O.
I've had gelato before, but never really understood what the fuss was about. Until trying Milani Gelateria. Now I believe! The pistachio was very good, and the lemon was amazing.
(4)Abigail S.
This charming, clean, brightly-lit store is nestled like a jewel in the middle of Española Way. There isn't a huge selection of flavors, but what they do have is fresh and made perfectly and absolutely delicious. Every flavor I tried was perfection, though I have to say I was partial to my chocolate and hazelnut two-flavor cup. (Yes, I know I could have gotten the bacio, but that's premixed and I wanted to try the flavors separately, okay?) I like this place a lot and will return. It's a perfectly romantic place to stop on a date, or just while strolling around South Beach during a sweltering Miami night.
(5)Nicola F.
Not bad at all Honestly after seeing the rating I have to say I was a bit disappointed Let's just say there are better authentic Italian gelaterie around Miami beach...
(4)Ellen C.
Usually I'm not a big fan of gelato. It comes out wayyy too sweet (as it should I think), and it just makes me regret my purchase. However, we stumbled on here very casually and decided to go in after reading yelp reviewers. The lady behind giant gelato rotating machine was very kind to let us try 4 samples...but then she quickly asked what size gelato we would like (which I thought odd...but forgiven). Anyway I got the chocolate and the hazelnut and it was SO good. The tropical and tutti frutti were also very delicious as it tasted like a smoothie, but in gelato form. I'd definitely stop by if you're in the area (not to come out of your way, but only if you're on the same street).
(4)Leslie J.
Located off Espanola Way. REALLY GREAT GELATO. I would vote Milani the best, and most authentic Italian gelato in South Beach. I loved their gelato wheel machine. Pretty neat. Managed to catch the leftover remains of their awesome gelato right before they were closing for the night. Their strawberry, lemon, tropical, and hazelnut gelato were all terrific. Really enjoyed the tropical, and strawberry would be a close second. Didn't care for the mini ice cream cone as I thought it was quite stale. This place completely satisfied my need for a gelato fix after soaking in the Miami sun.
(4)Paola M.
I would give it a 3 in Italy, here I guess I will have to make it a 4. Bacio tasted great, stracciatella was a bit too milky. Also not a great variety in flavors. I would go back, but not sure I'd go out of my way.
(4)Jordan N.
Milani Gelateria is good. Really good. Authentically Italian. Now, is it the best gelateria out there? Or even in South Florida? Or even in South Beach? Honestly, I don't know. It's up to your tastes to determine how you like your gelato. You could try the international chain, the beloved gelateria 4D. And there's Le Gelateria, formerly known as Parmalat. I won't go on (since I'm not trying to make a music list here), but do try and compare them all and make your South Beach gelato pick. This gelateria stands out for the awesome rotating machine that screams "I'm ITALIAN!" The make and style is obviously Italian. The day an American makes it is the day when Spaghetti becomes an American dish and not an Italian one. The gelatos here are creamier than the other gelato I've had in other gelaterias around. So that's a plus - creamy is good in my book. As for flavors, I thought the stracciatella was great as well as the bacio. The nuts are good too - hazelnut flavor has pieces of hazelnuts in them. It's the chocolate that was kind of a let-down. The dark chocolate they have there were not "dark" enough in its flavor. Kinda weak chocolate flavor, if you asked me. But otherwise, good gelateria, and I'd return! NOTE: An unusual twist - the cones are cheaper than the cups - and I LOVE CONES! Big plus here! And in the flavor department alone, 4D rules the roost, but this is a good second choice in South Beach.
(4)Asami S.
Okay tasting gelato at best, it was a tad icy. That is not the problem. The problem is the insanely rude guy who works here. He was extremely RUDE to me and I will never forget. I went in here with 3 of my friends to purchase gelato. My friends had already purchased theirs and I had tried 2 flavors. However, since I am a picky eater and don't want to spend $6 or $7 on a flavor I don't like, I had kindly asked for a third sample. I didn't think this would be a big deal but the guy was rude and told me I could only have 2 samples then he forced me to select what I'd be buying. I replied to him "Are you serious?" and he confirmed that he was. We were spending over $30 in there and he couldn't even give me a third sample. None of us will be returning after this insult.
(1)Danielle B.
Good gelato. About ten traditional flavors. Clean and good, nothing special.
(3)Jordan M.
Some flavors were good some were bland. Guy wasn't very friendly and charged 6.50 for a large which did not hit the spot
(2)John E.
I've been to this gelateria on two different occasions and both times I've left very happy. Normally I would say the gelato is priced a bit high but at Milani the gelato is comparable to the delicacy from Italy. This is because the owner is from italy. I had a nice chat with her in Italian which warranted her to give me and my Italian girlfriend a larger helping of gelato! The restaurant is located on Espanola way and at night the walk is very romantic. Take your date here. I have to recommend this place.
(5)Alberto P.
Good attentive service! Servings were small but very tasty! Give it a shot if you want some gelato! I ended up getting another serving because it was delicious!
(5)Doris L.
Reason to love Yelp #714: knowledgeable go-to Yelp Masters just a text message away. After a surprisingly good lunch on Espanola Way, my large party of house guests age 45-5 craved something cold and sweet. I texted young, international woman of mystery, Miami Yelp's Maria A: "Espanola Way. Ice Cream?" Cut to cool and shiny gelateria up the street serving creamy Italian goodness scooped by a sweet Italian. We had to run to the nearby-ish ATM because they only accept cash, but it was worth it. We all enjoyed rich chocolate and THE best pistachio cones ever. There were several more flavors -- all made fresh. Italian was in the air and everywhere, people smiled and licked . It was like a Fellini movie - with texting, gelato... and Yelp. (Graci, Maria A.)
(5)Serena S.
I've got one word for you - bacio. What is that you ask? Well, let me tell you. It's when nutella and chocolate get busy in the backseat and BAM...you got yourself some bacio. Milani Gelateria has the raddest gelato freezer/display/spinny thing I have ever seen. I can only hope to have something like that in the middle of my nonexistent kitchen one day. The guy who makes the gelato is straight out of Italy and knows his stuff. Everything is made with the freshest ingredients and it truly shows in their gelato. The texture is amazing. Top it off with a mini cake cone and you're ready to go. Portions are generous and you aren't limited to just getting one flavor in your cup. If you want to do half/half, they'll do that for you too. I've been to many gelaterias and I have to say this is the best.

sorbetto, thats whats up. i like it so i sometimes crave it. i missed the south beach local bus on washington and espanola so i knew the next one would take 15-20 minutes to come by so i went ahead and got me some italian ice. friendly service, the girl behind the counter friendly and helpful. i normally dont mix lemon sorbetto with anything but she convinced me to have a scoop of strawberry too which was actually really good all together. however, i thought the sorbetto base was maybe a bit creamy and i like water based like its supposed to be... i guess? but i liked it and next time i might try some gelato.

well it looks liek my friends and i got lucky to stumble upon this gelateria strolling down espanola way on a super duper humid day in sobe. we were intrigued because to be honest we wanted a casual inexpensive place to sit down and perhaps people watch(and maybe get some AC) haha. the flavors are definitely catchy along with the display and we all basically pestered the employee to give us a sample of each to see which we would end up buying. definitely a delicious summer treat!!!!

Went here after eating at the worst Brazilian restaurant ever, which is across the street. We figured we could at least have a proper dessert. Milani has signs all over the place that read, "Made by Italians." I thought it was bit over done, but it affirms any questions you might have about who makes it. Even the older, chain-smoking gentleman had a foreign accent. The machine/freezer that maintains the ice cream is pretty neat. It looks and rotates like a spaceship. I had the pistachio and hazelnut gelatos. The gelato was light, but creamy. It tastes a bit different from La Dolce Vita, but has a different texture. The Good: Location-Can Española Way be any more romantic? Price - Compared to other Gelato places it is pretty affordable. Taste - The Gelato is pretty good. After all it's made by Real Italians. lol The ice cream machine - It's just awesome. I asked him to spin for me. The Bad : The decor inside could be better.

I stopped here in early January 2013 while on vacation. I've been to numerous gelaterias in Italy and this gelateria is the real deal. It has the right consistency and flavor. Absolutely delicious. The gentleman working when I was there was very pleasant and helpful, translating the Italian names of some flavors for my friends. Please understand that when in an artisan gelateria you should expect to pay a little more for a cup or cone than in a traditional American ice cream shop; that said, for the quality of the product I thought the price was fair, especially being in Miami Beach. I've only had strawberry gelato twice that was better than here, and that's saying something. The rotating display case in the store is really cool, too.

This is absolutely without a doubt the best most authentic gelato I've ever had in my entire life. The pistachio was DELICIOUS! I keep dreaming of coming back to visit Miami Beach and indulging in the gelato. This was a stop on a Miami Beach food tour that I took last January and it definitely made quite the impression.

Get the Bacio. This is the one time to succumb to peer-pressure. Do it. Everyone else is. It's Nutella flavored with hazelnut and chocolate. I'm honestly not talented enough to accurately describe the yummy flavor. It's pure delight. Yeah, that's Pulitzer material right there. The display is unique and fun. The portions are generous and you're not limited to only one flavor! I can't think of any meaningful suggestions so that translates to 5 stars! I got a kick out of the ice-cream cone chairs in front of the shop too.

2 scoops in a cup, pistachio and coconut; awesome!

I loved it! We had the mixed berry which tasted very fresh and I am a fan of the vanilla with caramel. Perfect portions and they will split the cup with 2 flavors at no additional charge.

Soooo yummy!!!! And refreshing in that Miami heat. My only beef is that they have nothing BUT gelato....I was hoping for sorbetto but oh well. I recommend the mango and vanilla gelatos. Prices aren't bad either :)

Last stop! best gelateria in miami!!!
(5)Raul R.
Love, love, love this place. They have the most amazing gelato on the beach. It is right in the heart of Espanola Way, so stop here when you are strolling around, or even after dinner at a nearby restaurant. They keep the selections simple and fresh. Only drawback is that it is around the corner from my house, and every time I pass it, I want to get some!
(5)Timothy P.
Even with Gelateria4D basically being next door I continue to make the long (14 block) trip up to Milani because it's that good. Instead of the cup or cone this time I spent the extra $10 to get the medium to go container, lord knows I'll be hungry later.

"Hello, my name is Francesco, i m the brwon mop-haired kid. Im very mad that you post that review about my store, The reason that i contact you is to invite you to my store to have a taste of any flavour that you d like to try and you will tell me what do you think. Hope to see you soon !! FrAncesco" Um. I'm sorry I upset you, but I feel that oral contact on beverage containers for public consumption is obviously unsanitary. You should address that issue. With those big glass windows and the hordes of weekend tourists walking by, why would you drink something out of the container, recap it, and place it back in the fridge? Do the beverages under the counter get used to make the goods? If so, I decline your kind invitation (also the fact that I have seen Fight Club, and know not to let 'very mad' cooks/waiters/baristas serve me anything! Somewhere in the back of my geeky mind, I swear I hear Admiral Ackbar's panic-ridden voice). I'm not trying to flame you, but I work in the health care industry. That sort of thing should be taken seriously. I'm really, really hoping that you placed it in the garbage...but generally, garbage bins in restaurants don't have swing out doors. :( I add a star for your generous invitation, and the fact that you did indeed contact me. Please prove me wrong about the whole hygiene issue. I *really* want to be wrong!

I have been here several times and its always great! They have an awesome rotating freezer which looks very space age in their otherwise cutesy establishment. I always have the baccio because it is so AMAZING. My husband could swim in a tub of their coconut. The gelato is very rich and truly tastes homemade. So far they have the best gelato in Miami. I don't usually care much about decorating for most places I go to, but Milani has super cute Euro ice cream parlor theme. Like most of the establishments on Espanola, you feel very far from Miami Beach. We look forward to coming here for many years to come!

I had a 3:30 business appointment nearby, but since all Italians run on "Italy time" I was forced to wait around while some construction workers hooted and hollered at me. It was hot, really hot. What was a girl to do? I called my girlfriend and she told me of "a new gelateria where the pet store used to be." Gelato sounded great, and since my day was already taking a turn for an "italian theme" I grabbed my credit card (yes they do take credit cards) and ventured inside. The gelato machine looked like a pinwheel of colorful goodness. Francesco, the dashing Italian man in the red bandana was very nice and guided me though his "wheel of flavors." I chose Mango, and what a good choice that was. Perfect and fruity for the summer heat. I do wish it would have been a tiny bit less sugary, which is why I asked for a cup of water. Nothing beats a gelato on a hot summer day. Especially one from Milani :)

Quit reading this review and try this place out! I happened to be on Espanola Way with my wife, 4 kids, Mother -inlaw and Wife's grandparents, and not happy as I usually stay off of this street. But my kids were dying for some ice-cream so we ended up inside. I was shocked to find the state of the art Italian Gelato equipment with one of the coolest dispay freezers on the planet (see photos). My kids were already eating their gelato when I walked in with my middle son. (the kids are all under 6 years old). The Italian owner was VERY kind and told me about the qualithy of ingredients and I was surprised when I finally tasted some of the best Gelato I have ever had. The vanilla was so rich and intense, it might have been the best Vanilla Ice cream I have ever eaten, You could taste the freshness in the flavor. The Gelato tasts so rich, and has such a creamy consistancy the flavor explodes on your tongue. I ended up having Coconut mixed with Vanilla and my son had Straciotella (sp). We will definately be going out of our way to eat the gelato here next time. If you are anywhere near Lincoln Road.....go out of your way to try this place. DG

This brand new gelateria opened on Espanola and I stopped in for small cone of Pistachio last night. I have to say it was wonderful. Rich, really creamy, and the flavor was very delicate. The place is really futuristic looking with the gelato in a giant round and very shiny circular refrigerated machine! Definitely worth stopping by and trying out one of their many unique flavors.

Highly recommend making a stop by here while walking through Espanola Way. The owner is a sweetheart from Torino that is making each of the gelatos from scratch on his own trying to keep the gelato tasting as authentic as possible. Each flavor is representative of one of Italy's regions, and very tasty. The gelato is very sweet and delicious. I recommend it to anyone who misses the taste of a half bacio half nocciola on a hot Italian summer day. Delizioso!

Very good gelato!! Variety of flavors in a great location.
(5)Patrick K.
This is a nice little gelato spot. I tried the lemon and strawberry. The strawberry was really good, but the lemon was just ok. Decent prices though, and its cheaper than most of the gelato shops around here. Customer service was also quite good. I like the giant wheel they have the gelato containers in--very cool.

I was actually quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews on this place. It was really great. We went to S. Beach for vacation recently and found this place just down the street from our hotel (The Z Ocean Resort - fantastic and subject of another review). Located in a pedestrian zone with cobbled streets and lined with tourist restaurants (the kind with people in front trying to harrangue you into eating there, including one guy dressed like Caesar in front of the Italian Place. However, without any flash, the Milani Gelateria enticed is into the store with the simple word "Gelateria" and a hot and humid 90 degree evening; there was nothing sultry about this - we went in to get some Coolant! Franceso was in the store that evening, wearing his signature Dew Rag over a head of out-of-control locks and charming everyone with his accent. The carousel of vibrant-colored ices were spinning and he was ready to tell you about everything. The first night, I tried the Bacci - a hazelnut and chocolate flavoured ice with hazelnut crunchies in it - and the Mango. The Bacci was like Nutella with attitude, which I loved, but the mango actually sang with the flavor of fresh mangos so ripe you could almost see them in front of your eyes. This ritual of Milani Gelateria became our standard after each evening meal in South Beach - and, unashamedly, after several lunches as well. The Bacci can't be beat, but I also recommend without reservation the Pistacchio, the Hazelnut, the MMMMMango, and Strasticcelli - Italian Vanilla with bittersweet Chocolate Chunks. And you can trust me because I have had them all. Several times. To insure consistency. I can tell you that if I lived in South Beach and had this place near me, I would definitely not have one of those beautiful South Beach bodies. OK, actually, I don't have that now. But Milani would give me the excuse I need.

Best gelato!! Tiny little shop on Espanola Way in South Beach, not a huge selection but the gelato tastes smooth and flavorful! Mango is my favorite. It was perfect on a hot summer night!
(5)Elliott M.
My girlfriend grew up in Italy and her verdict is that this gelato is as Italian as it gets. The flavors are rich and delectable. Francesco, the owner, is from torino and makes the gelato right there in the shop. Get in there and have some already! Seriously.
(5)Yvette A.
Best authentic gelato in Miami! Really the way Italy does it. And yes if you like the Ferrer Rocher chocolates... Bacio is the way to go. So Yummy. The Frutti di bosco (wild berries) is also very rich but refreshing.
(5)Adam M.
Milani Gelateria has the classic Gelato flavors. They are delicious, well presented, and well priced. I would consider myself a connoisseur of Gelato and MIlani's does not disappoint. The shop was very nicely laid out and the way the Gelato was presented and served was unique and fun. If I go back to Miami Beach, FL I will be stopping by Milani's again!

Wish we had exquisite gelato like this in Boston!

My husband went back 4 times to get another cup. Kids loved it. The place is situated in a LOVELY section of South Beach...Take some time and go. A really nice and lovely time was had by all!

We stopped by this place on 2 occasions as visitors to Miami. My son went in to get "ice cream" and boasted about how good it tasted. He offered me a taste and I declined as I was full from our dinner. We came back again on the following day and I treated everyone to some of the delicious gelato! It was a bit pricey, but the heat was doing us no justice--we needed a sweet treat to cool us down. :) I am usually no fan of pistachio ice cream or anything close, but this was the BEST tasting stuff I had ever tasted! Since returning to GA I have searched all over for anything close...but to no avail I have been an unlucky camper. :( There was something that kind of turned me off about being unclean in this place, but I can't remember what it was. It was soooo freakin' hot that day! I swear this is the best gelato I have ever had. There was a homeless guy walking down the street strumming through the garbage for food...i ended up giving him mine. If I ever come back I will DEF be visitng this place! P.S. I remember what it was that turned me off a bit....I want to say the "owner", but I am not sure. He was an older guy with salt and pepper colored hair--smoking cigarettes. He smoked his cig, blew his nose and went behind the counter WITHOUT washing his hands. THAT was a turn-off! However, this was the first night. My son had already gotten his order and was wolfing it down. The second day there was a girl working and no old man behind the counter so I felt ok...i guess. O_o

By far the best gelato I've tried in america. They have such a cool spinning cooler check this place out! if ur like me and can never finish your entire ice crem/gelato because its too big you will love their kid size cones. I payed under 5 bucks...Very niceee!
(5)Lisa S.
While I would say its a tad on the pricey side, this high-end and high-tech gelateria is amazing! I've never seen a circular freezer that spins constantly. We were able to try many flavors before deciding on our selections. Highly recommend the coconut gelato as well as the chocolate chip one (can't remember the name in italian but something that began with an s) that my children loved.
(5)Latks F.
Definitely the best gelato I have tried in America. It's so authentic tasting, and being on a cute cobblestone street doesn't hurt. Only loses a star because I don't think they are extremely careful with cross-contamination of nuts, since we had a minor reaction from it each time we went.

Excellent gelato. The best we had in Miami
